Justine talks too much to get work off her chest. Michael chats to strangers for a living - Saddo’s one of them. But what use are words when you’re up against it in the wintry city? And Christmas is coming... ready or not...
Lucinda Coxon’s chillingly funny new play freeze-frames a generation negotiating intimacy and distance in the 21st century.
Herding Cats has recently been nominated for a Theatre Award UK for Best New Play.
"What a brave, brutal 75 minutes this is … a cool gaze on the disconnectedness of contemporary life which lets nobody off the hook … faultless performances from Olivia Hallinan, Philip McGinley and David Michaels. So brutal, you almost forget to breathe. See it, and shudder. "
The Guardian ★★★★
"Lucinda Coxon’s arresting new play. Anthony Banks’s masterly direction ... unforgettable."

The UK chose to focus on the theme of Transformation & Revelation.
Peter Farley, designer of the exhibition/ curator of the SBTD (Society of British Theatre Designers) asks:
"How do UK designers transform their ideas into reality? How do they use the transformation of structures and costumes to take us on a visual journey? What is the alchemy between the designers and their collaborators involved in this progression? We concluded that, working from the premise that the function of design is not merely to illustrate the performed text, music or movement, but to provide a further layer of visual narrative, it is not only the job of the director but also that of the designer to make us ask, “What am I going to see next? What will be revealed?” It is through this process of constant visual and aural Transformation and Revelation that we experience a work of theatre.
[...]
The exhibitors from the UK were selected from over two hundred professional designers who exhibited their work in the Society of British Theatre Designers’ National Exhibition in Cardiff, UK in March/April this year."
UK Exhibiting Artists: Es Devlin, Anthony Gormley, Richard Hudson, Sophie Jump, John F Macfarlane, Garance Marneur, Conor Murphy, Pippa Nissen, Michael Pavelka, Kathrine Sandys, Hansjorg Schmidt, Jamie Vartan and Naomi Wilkinson.
